The Healing Justice Alliance is the annual conference of the National Network of Hospital-based Violence Intervention Programs (NNHVIP), Cure Violence replication sites, and other health-based approaches to ending urban violence and supporting survivors. We invite you to join public officials, gang intervention workers, doctors, nurses, social workers, service providers, violence interrupters, administrators, researchers, philanthropists and community members – all committed to interrupting the cycle of violence and providing healing.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Joy DeGruy
Dr. Joy DeGruy is a nationally and internationally renowned researcher, educator, author and presenter. She is an ambassador for healing and a voice for those who’ve struggled in search of the past, and continue to struggle through the present. Dr. Joy is the acclaimed author of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome — America’s Legacy of Enduring Injury and Healing, Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome: The Study Guide, with a second book in the works, Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome Part 2: Be The Healing.
Dr. DeGruy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications; two master degrees in Social Work and Clinical Psychology; and a PhD in Social Work Research. With over twenty years of practical experience as a professional in the field of social work, she gives a practical insight into various cultural and ethnic groups that form the basis of contemporary American society.

Participant Refund Policy
- Conference registration and/or workshop registration may be canceled with full refund provided written notification is received any time up until four (4) weeks prior to the conference start date.
- A 50% refund is available for conference registration and/or workshop registration provided written notification is received between four (4) weeks and two (2)weeks prior to the conference start date.
- No refunds will be granted within two (2) weeks of the conference start date. In the case of an emergency/extenuating circumstances, special requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the conference leadership team following the conference.
